Dr. Patel received his first pair of glasses when he was 9 years old, and that is when he realized how clear the world is. Since then, he has developed a keen interest in vision care, and has made it his mission to help patients see their absolute best.
Dr. Patel completed his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction at University of Western Ontario and further went to University of Waterloo to complete his Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction.
During his first year of optometry school, Dr. Patel got introduced to vision therapy when he was working as an optometric student at a vision development center. He learned about and saw how vision therapy transformed patients lives. Dr. Patel started doing vision therapy exercises on himself and noticed a significant improvement in his visual skills, attention, and visual memory .
During his clinical externships and training, Dr. Patel worked with patients suffering from traumatic brain injuries (concussions), learning difficulties , strabismus and amblyopia. He participated and organized several sport vision seminars and vision screenings for athletes. He played a key role in organizing the special olympics vision screenings. He has been mentored by the leading experts in Canadian vision rehabilitation.
Dr Patel has expanded and continues enhancing his clinical knowledge and expertise by taking continuing education courses particularly in vision therapy, traumatic brain injury management, syntonics and sports vision. He has attended several conferences and courses offered by the Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation (COVT&R),Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and College of Vision Development.
Along with enhancing his clinical expertise, Dr. Patel has held various leadership and volunteer roles . He was the President of the Canadian Association of Optometry Students, Vice President of the Sports vision club, and the very first Student Councillor of Canadian Association of Optometrists. Dr. Patel has participated in two eye care mission trips in Ecuador and Jamaica, where he provided eye care services to over 10,000 patients.
In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with family, working out, playing sports, reading and travelling

Dr. Speers grew up in Orangeville where he still has family residing. He attended the University of Waterloo where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science Honours degree on the Dean’s list. Dr. Speers then attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry graduating in 2008 with High Honours. During this time, he was apart of many different volunteer associations, one that took him to Guatemala to help provide eye care to many without normal access.
In 2008, Dr. Speers started his yearlong residency at Omni Eye Services of New Jersey in Co-Management of Ocular procedures and surgeries.
Dr. Speers returned back to Canada in 2009 where he joined TLC laser eye centres in Mississauga where he worked as the Clinical Director until 2018, managing laser and cataract patients as well as managing dry eye syndrome.
He is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, as well as Ontario Association of Optometry (OAO), and was the Chair of the Education Committee in 2016. He loves furthering his knowledge by attending many lectures and workshops, which help Dr. Speers stay on top of the most recent technologies and treatment options.
Dr. Speers is thrilled to be back in Orangeville providing eye care for you and your family. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf when he can.
Dr. Wong was born in Hong Kong, immigrating to Canada with her family when she was nine years old. She is fluent in both Chinese (Cantonese) and English. At age ten she got her first pair of glasses and ever since that time her goal was to pursue a career in eye care. During her high school years she held various jobs in vision care, including a position as a frame stylist and working as a lab technician edging glasses. Through-out her university career she worked in ocular research, performing eye dissections and studying aberrations of the visual system. During her final year of study she completed an ocular pharmaceutical and disease externship at The Eye Institute in New Port Richie, Florida. In 2002 she underwent LASIK to correct her myopia and astigmatism. The procedure was a great success and she is happy to say she is still free of corrective lenses and has better than 20/20 vision.
Dr. Wong graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate of Optometry, and was the recipient of the Essilor Award of Excellence in Optics. She has recently become involved in the exciting field of Vision Therapy, an area of optometry devoted to improving and enhancing people’s visual performance through specialized exercises and activities.
Dr. Wong has been a member of the Orangeville Optometrists eye care team since 2001. She is the proud mother of two children, and is an avid pianist and martial artist.
Dr. Wong is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Ontario Association of Optometrists, Canadian Optometrists in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation (COVT&R), and Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF).
In 2006, Leanne began her career in the field of vision . Graduating from Centennial College as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant, Leanne worked alongside Ontario’s best ophthalmologists, assisting with Lasik and cataract surgeries. With the experience she acquired, Leanne was able to make an easy transition into the world of Vision Therapy.
Leanne has successfully completed the clinical curriculum of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF) and is a member of the College of Syntonic Optometry.
She has completed the certification program through the Practical Vision Therapy Accreditation Program (PVTAP) and is a proud member of the Canadian Optometrist in Vision Therapy & Rehabilitation (COVT&R).
She continues to expand her knowledge of vision development by attending continuing education courses yearly.
Leanne has over 5 years of experience as a vision therapist. In that time she has helped rehabilitate countless patients with visual difficulties following a concussion/acquired brain injury.
She takes great pride in working with kids who are struggling in the classroom due to learning-related vision problems.
Leanne works with patients with strabismus & amblyopia.
She also helps patients striving to be more visually efficient in their chosen sport.
Leanne was offered and gladly accepted the opportunity to travel to Sydney, Australia.
While there, Leanne spent 5 weeks doing vision therapy with patients ranging in ages from 5 to 75.
She also lent her time to help train new, up and coming Aussie therapists.
Leanne and her family currently reside in Orangeville. She and her husband are busy parents to 2 small children. When she is not in the VT room, Leanne likes to read, go to the movie theatres and is an avid lover of dance and musical theatre.
Through years of experience in the areas of visual health, visual development, and rehabilitation, Leanne has helped countless patients resolve their visual problems and looks forward to working with you.
